Edgar López Juan es un director de orquesta español especializado en repertorio sinfónico y operístico. Se gradúa con mención de honor en Dirección en el Conservatorio Superior de Música «Joaquín Rodrigo» de Valencia y en la Academia de Música Jāzeps Vītols de Riga, Letonia, donde estudia con Imants Resnis y Ēriks Ešenvalds.
En 2023 es seleccionado entre doce directores de todo el mundo para la Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship, trabajando junto a Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Martyn Brabbins y Marta Gardolińska — uno de los programas de desarrollo para directores más prestigiosos del mundo. En 2025 obtiene el Segundo Premio en el I Concurso Internacional de Dirección de Orquesta de Castellón.
Entre 2021 y 2023 ejerce como Director Asistente de la Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana (JOGV), cubriendo regularmente al director titular y dirigiendo conciertos de forma independiente. Desde 2022 forma parte del equipo de directores de la Orquesta Joven de Extremadura (OJEX).
Su experiencia operística incluye producciones de Les Contes d'Hoffmann de Offenbach y Lucia di Lammermoor de Donizetti (Valencia, 2022). Con un firme compromiso con la creación contemporánea, ha dirigido el estreno mundial de tres nuevas obras en el Festival Ensems 2023 en el Palau de les Arts, en colaboración con el compositor Héctor Parra.
Ha participado en masterclasses y proyectos de dirección con Jaume Santonja, Álvaro Albiach, Josep Vicent, Pablo Rus Broseta, Nicolás Pasquet, Thomas Dausgaard, Antonello Alemandi, Cristóbal Soler, Rafael Sanz-Espert y Krastin Nastev.
Edgar López Juan is a Spanish conductor specialising in orchestral and operatic repertoire. He holds degrees with honours in Conducting from the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Joaquín Rodrigo" in Valencia and the Jāzeps Vītols Music Academy in Riga, Latvia, where he studied with Imants Resnis and Ēriks Ešenvalds.
In 2023 he was selected as one of twelve conductors worldwide for the Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship, working alongside Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Martyn Brabbins and Marta Gardolińska — one of the most prestigious conducting development programmes in the world. In 2025 he was awarded the Second Prize at the First International Conducting Competition of Castellón.
From 2021 to 2023 he served as Assistant Conductor of the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana (JOGV), regularly covering the principal conductor and leading concerts independently. Since 2022 he has been part of the conducting team of the Orquesta Joven de Extremadura (OJEX).
His operatic experience includes productions of Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor (Valencia, 2022). He has a strong commitment to contemporary music, having conducted the world premieres of three new works at the Festival Ensems 2023 at the Palau de les Arts, in collaboration with composer Héctor Parra.
He has participated in masterclasses and conducting projects with Jaume Santonja, Álvaro Albiach, Josep Vicent, Pablo Rus Broseta, Nicolás Pasquet, Thomas Dausgaard, Antonello Allemandi, Cristóbal Soler, Rafael Sanz-Espert and Krastin Nastev.
